A lot can happen in a year. In many ways, 2025 has been a good one for me. When I sat down to do reflection and goal-setting, I could think of many more positives than negatives.
My default coping strategy for many a thing is to go the library. There are very few problems that can’t be solved by the application of sufficient research, or soothed by the distraction of a good book.
More teenage poetry
I recently came across some poetry I wrote as a teenager. Most of it was predictably cringeworthy, but a few of the pieces were— to my surprise— halfway decent.
I confess, I’m no urbanist at heart. I was raised in the countryside, where there were forests and lakes and homes with little gardens. But over the past few years, I’ve been reluctantly convinced that cities are the way of the future.
